Our Research

We promote synergies between disciplines within the humanities, and between the humanities and techno-scientific fields, to give rise to collaborative and participatory research projects.

We foster interdisciplinary synergies both within the humanities and between the humanities and scientific and technological fields, to give rise to collaborative and participatory research projects.
Our research is characterised by four main Research Areas and the numerous intersections that arise from them, ranging from teaching to societal impact: Languages, Linguistics, Literature and Philology.

Interdisciplinary approaches that give rise to the Department’s projects

  • interculturalism and relations between Europe and the world, from a perspective that fosters dialogue between the present and the past;
  • narratives and representations in their linguistic, literary, cultural and transmedia manifestations;
  • innovative methodologies and approaches to research and teaching, including computational humanities and e-learning programmes.

Research Projects

We promote original research initiatives capable of securing national and international funding, while encouraging ethical and sustainable practices.
