What are the fundamental components of emotive persuasion in the modern linguistic and psychological sense? How do these this link to the classical rhetoric notion of pathos? And, within the context of public address, how might the notion of charisma be related to that of emotive persuasion? These questions, and several more, will be explored by us in this interactive online lecture/workshop on the topic of ‘persuasion, emotion and charisma’.
The lecture will be online, open to all the participants in Federica Ferrari’s Seminar E on “Persuasion and Emotion” and to master students. All other people interested are welcome.
